Formed in January of 1980 in Arizona by two civil engineering professionals who saw a need for more personal service, Z & H has grown to become one of the highly respected transportation engineering consulting firms in Arizona. We offer a wide variety of services in the civil engineering field including surveying, flood control design, airport planning and engineering, hydraulics and hydrology analysis, water and wastewater design, major street and highway design, traffic engineering, storm drainage design, feasibility studies, site development and construction observation/ administration. Many projects have been guided from their inception through construction.
Although we provide an array of civil engineering services, we specialize in airport design. We have completed the design, planning and construction administration of over 300 airport projects around the Southwest. Our clients range in size including small general aviation airports, mid-size commercial operations airports, and major commercial hub airports.
The founders of Z & H created a strong business foundation upon which we continue to build. Our early, and continued success, was achieved by taking pride in our projects and by providing all of our clients with quality, personal, cost effective engineering consultant services. As we move forward, we continue to focus on this core formula for success. The following individuals are the founders who took the first steps toward shaping Z & H into who we are today.

William D. Zeisler, P.E., R.L.S. was a founding partner of Z & H who managed the overall operations of the firm's office. He managed a broad range of public and private projects both domestically and overseas. His primary experience was in transportation, sanitary and land development fields.

Leon J. Hausman, P.E., R.L.S., also a founding partner of Z & H, was responsible for supervising commercial and industrial development projects. He also managed paving, storm drainage and flood control projects. His primary experience was in transportation, drainage and land development fields.

Martin H. Rosness, P.E., R.L.S., although not a founding partner, joined the firm in 1981 and was responsible for the firm's public projects. His experience included the planning and design of numerous airport, highway and street projects.
